Why is Bone Densitometry Important?

Bone densitometry is focused on minerals in bones. Concentration or density of minerals in the bone tissue is measured in this test. When osteoporosis develops, the tissue transforms into a spongy form characterized with pores. The spongy tissue is fragile and therefore prone to fracture. Fractures and cracks pose high risk and their treatment is difficult in advanced ages.
