Evaluation of skin with Videodermatoscope


This method is used in diagnosis of dermatological diseases; the skin lesion is magnified by 80-250 times and thus, it can be more clearly evaluated by physician on a monitor. Patient can also see magnified view of the lesion on the monitor. The method that is very significant in diagnosis is used at Defne Hospital.

Wood light examination


This method plays a very important role especially in diagnosis of fungal diseases; a blue light offers important information for differential diagnosis of skin lesions. In wood light examination, a special light source is used in a completely dark room.

Cryotherapy (Cold Gas Therapy)


Nitrogen gas with boiling temperature: -196 ℃ is used in cryotherapy. This cold gas is used to freeze and eliminate brown sun spots, acne, aging-related skin hypertrophy and skin spots. The procedure does not require local anesthesia and any surgical procedure. It is used epidermally in the form of a gas spray. There is no systemic side effect. It can be used in all groups and even in pregnant women

Acne (Adolescence Pimples)


It is a chronic skin disease that originates from oil glands located in face, shoulders, back and chest. It is very common in the age range of 14 to 20 years and typical signs are black spots that can usually lead to psychological problems. The pimples that are filled by pus are called acne. The reason is occlusion of oil glands. Skin care is very important in adolescence pimples. Medication treatment should necessarily be planned by a physician according to severity of the condition. Scabies


It is an itchy and contagious skin diseases caused by penetration of sarcoptes, the causative agent that can hardly be seen, into upper layer of skin. It is usually manifested by severe itching and linear wounds especially in hand, wrist, toe webs, arm pits, abdomen and buttocks. The first approach is to wash all underwear, clothes and bed linens of patient and persons in contact with the patient.

Zona


The causative agent is a virus that also causes chicken pox. The Herpes Zoster. Zona and Herpes Zoster is manifested by burn-like pain felt on trace of nerve(s) especially in chest or trunk or face and trunk and the condition is usually unilateral. Red sports and small blisters develop at location of pain several days after onset of the disease. These symptoms persist approximately 1 week. It is very important to start treatment immediately after symptoms of the disease are recognized.

Hair Loss
